Lehto Group Plc Stock Exchange Release 29 June 2016, 9.00
Lehto Group Plc to build an office and retail complex at Tikkurila railway station
Lehto Group Plc’s subsidiary Rakennusliike Lehto Ltd. will build a new office and retail complex at Tikkurila railway station in Vantaa, Finland, address Väritehtaankatu 8. Sponda Plc will be the orderer of the complex. Lehto Group has also previously executed turnkey projects with Sponda. The value of Lehto Group’s building contract is approx. EUR 26.8 million.
Sponda will carry out the project in two phases. The first phase will comprise a total of 9,500 square meters of leasable space, half of which will be office space and the other half business and service premises. The first phase of construction will begin in July 2016 and the estimated time of completion is in March 2018. Sponda will make the decision on commencing the second phase at a later stage based on the occupancy rate.
Lehto Group will concentrate its office functions of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area to the new office space and will lease a total of approx. 1,600 square meters of office space from the building. Lehto Group’s current offices near the airport at Vantaa are getting small as Lehto’s number of employees is increasing. New comfortable offices and good logistical location are estimated to have a positive effect to the recruiting of new employees in the Metropolitan Area.
The new business premises complex in Tikkurila will be directly connected to one of the busiest railway stations in Finland, with direct railway connections to Helsinki city centre and the airport. Tikkurila is a rapidly developing growth centre and traffic hub whose public transport connections were improved further by the completion of the Ring Rail Line. The new 6-storey office and business premises complex will bring more sought-after services and form a significant entity to Tikkurila’s cityscape to further increase Tikkurila’s appeal. Energy efficiency and environmentally friendly solutions will be emphasised in the design and construction of the office and business premises complex.
The effect of the building contract on Lehto Group’s net sales and operating profit has been aknowledged in the previous financial outlooks for 2016 published by the company.
